Low Notch-1 and High Jagged-1 Expressions are Associated with Better Treatment Response and Survival in Adult Egyptian Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia

چکیده
Background: Acute Myeloid Leukemias (AMLs) are neoplastic proliferations arising in hematopoietic precursor cells the bone marrow resulting overgrowth of myeloblasts and other myeloid lineage. Notch-1 receptor is a transmembrane protein type I. Interactions between its ligands Jagged-1 Dll-1 result proteolytic cleavages inside receptor, followed by release nuclear translocation intracellular domain (Notch-1-IC). expression was also found CD34+ progenitors peripheral blood marrow. Delta-like1 (Dll-1) seem to be functionally opposing members ligand family; however, their precise methods action AML unknown.
Methods: Using flow cytometry, surface on leukemic blasts from newly diagnosed patients evaluated. In addition, associated with clinical data, laboratory responsiveness therapy, Disease-Free (DFS) Overall Survival (OS).
Results: positively expressed 20% studied patients. Positive shorter OS (6.1 months) DFS (3.1 months). Higher levels were significantly lower remission higher relapse rates. contrary, marker weas 56% patients, those showed (6.6 longer (3.6 compared negatively ones. recorded 30 % yet no significant relationship rates as well outcome after therapy.
Conclusion: Both ligands, Dll-1, implicated pathogenesis, however has greater impact findings than Dll-1. A better prognosis related high individuals AML. Hence, further research required acquire knowledge modes

Heterozygous PU.1 mutations are associated with acute myeloid leukemia.
The transcription factor PU.1 is required for normal blood cell development. PU.1 regulates the expression of a number of crucial myeloid genes, such as the macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) receptor, the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) receptor, and the granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) receptor. Myeloid cells derived from PU.1(-/-) mice are blo...
متن کاملBAALC and ERG Expression in Egyptian Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Relation to Survival and Response to Treatment
AIM Aim was to detect Brain and Acute Leukemia, Cytoplasmic (BAALC) and ETS-related gene (ERG) expression in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) as well as to study their biologic and prognostic impact on the disease outcome and survival. PATIENTS AND METHODS The current study was carried out on 44 patients with denovo acute myeloid leukemia, as well as 44 age and sex matched controls....
متن کاملKIR2DS3 is Associated with Protection against Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Background: Interaction between killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR) and human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecules is important for regulation of natural killer (NK) cell function. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of compound KIR-HLA genotype on susceptibility to acute leukemia. Methods: Cohorts of Iranian patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML;...
متن کاملLipid profile and oxidized lipoprotein levels in patients with acute myeloid leukemia
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is blood and bone marrow malignancy. Low-density oxidative lipoprotein (oxLDL) is a pro-inflammatory factor that has free radicals in its structure. OxLDL levels are also rising in diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers. Studies have shown that oxLDL and dyslipidemia are more common in patients with various cancers. This stud...
